What a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic lunch with your family. Come on out and relax and encourage your child to enjoy imaginative play in one of the themed gardens. There is no drinking water so bring something to drink. There are plenty of picnic tables for playing a game or eating lunch so plan to spend some time here.

We are very fortunate to have Timothy Nafziger as our outdoor educator at the Carolina Children's Garden and Conservation Station. Tim holds a B.S. in Biological Science from Clemson (2007) and an M.S. in Entomology from Auburn (2010). His most recent work experiences include being a school program instructor at Roper Mountain Science Center, interpreter at Paris Mountain State Park and adjunct biology instructor at Greenville Tech.


The garden is open daily from 7:30 am until dusk; there are no admission fees. Visit on your own, attend one of our public programs (Public Programs) ,or schedule a special program for your school (School Programs ) or group (Group Programs) For more information, to register for a program, or to schedule a special program for your group, contact Tim Nafziger at carolinachildrensgarden@gmail.com or (803) 459-3212.

Carolina Children's Garden programs are presented by the South Carolina Midlands Master Gardener Association in cooperation with the Richland County Master Gardener Association. They are funded in part by a grant from the Richland County Conservation Commission.
